Message From Michael (Days 20 & 21) |
Dear Friends of Glencolton Farms Today is my 21st day without real food. I never ever thought I could still function the way I do. However, the strain on the body is becoming noticeable and I have to realize that this will not go on forever. My body will have limits. Till then my work continues more actively than ever as a result of the events on November 21st.
Unexpectedly, I received a phone call from Randy Hillier in Eastern
Ontario. A chicken farm had been flooded with 20 OPP officers and
Chicken Board people. The farmer and his brother were arrested.
The
landowners Association called for a rally at the OPP station in
Prescott. So we drove straight from Toronto Wednesday morning to the
rally. They asked me to speak and I had a chance to discuss the recent
events of an increase of police force to control farmers.
Dear
friends, anybody who is awake can get enough information to understand
that we need to get back to the basics. We all need to ensure that our
own food supply, which is such an important backbone of a just society,
is protected.
Farmers need to be economical healthy. Farmers need to be free to reconnect with the consumer. Farmers are custodians of the rural landscape. Farmers are not afraid to work. Farmers need to be farmers.
Please help . . . it is your food.
Regards, Michael
