Petition from the Canadian Chefs Congress |
In Support of Constructive Dialogue
On September 21.and 22. 2008 Michael Stadtlaender hosted the first
ever Canadian Chefs Congress at his farm in Singhampton Ontario.
400 of the best Canadian chefs, artisan food producers, wineries and
breweries attended the two day event with the following mission:
The Canadian Chefs' Congress connects chefs to our land in solidarity with farmers, fishers, gardeners, foragers and all artisanal food producers. The Canadian Chefs' Congress is a biennial gathering of chefs from across Canada that reinforces the passion and integrity of Canadian Food Culture.
Michael Schmidt briefly was asked to speak about his struggle with the Ontario Government. A petition then was signed by the participants of the Congress with the following statement:

For the representatives of the Provincial Government to cease destructive harassment of Michael Schmidt and Glencolton Farms: Instead, begin a constructive dialogue on the issues surrounding raw milk and raw milk products.
