Dear Friends
Cheese Equipment Returned . . . Finally!
As we move on with the proceedings connected to the Raw Milk issue, I would like to give you some updates.
June 3. 2008 was the day the equipment was returned to the farm. I met some familiar faces amongst the MNR staff - this time less threatening. No uniforms and visible guns, but still they were wearing gun-proof vests, so that looked sort of funny.
I was happy to be re-introduced to one of the undercover officers - Vick. He came two years ago to try to buy a cow share for his friend, Susan Taylor, who then turned into Susan Atherton once she gathered enough evidence to launch the big Raid. They are all nice people, doing their job.
Our meetings with the other side continue. We are trying to make some headway but struggling with some core issues. One of them is the faulty search warrant that only covered one property, which means they have seized items from a property not described on the search warrant. Judging by the scope of this investigation, this raises serious concerns bringing into question as it does the credibility of their investigation.
Another issue concerns the statement I gave during the Raid, given when the house was surrounded and the doors inside were guarded by officers. All, even the two plain clothes officers, had guns. This statement in question they want to use in court as evidence.
So you can see that there are hurdles to overcome, which have nothing to do with the fundamental issue at stake.
The hearing regarding contempt of court will take place on July 31st at the Eagle Street courthouse in Newmarket.
The York Regional Health Unit and its lawyers do not yet understand the concept of a grass roots rebellion demanding the right to choose what we put into our bodies as wholesome food. Even if they succeed in court, the cow share owners will continue as they have done now for many months. Perhaps they will need to begin charging everybody who drives the Blue Bus, enters the Blue Bus and leaves the Blue Bus with the mysterious white substance we call Milk.
Is there a total ban on tomatoes yet? Why not?
Oh, you bureaucrats, why don't you look at cooperation instead of confrontation. Enforcing law does not mean not listening to the people who have real concerns about their food, which is approved by your regulations but causes real harm in the long and short term.
We will not stop.
Regards, Michael

Was glad to stand with you today (July 31st). It is true, the issue is not about the milk but control. If I have the free choice to blacken my lungs and destroy my liver in this province, why shouldn't I have the same choice to "destroy" my body with this white liquid.
Blessings and prayers always,
Brent
