Dear Cow Share members,
Dealing with life in general and especially as a farmer, has given me a level of instinctive alertness about situations regarding my own fate and future.
Not at all pretending to know enough about the proceedings and how to defend myself, I have taken a serious look at the present situation and decided after many sleepless nights to stand up and defend myself. As a farmer it is one of the most challenging circumstances, to put my life into the hands of others. As a farmer I will go, as a farmer I will speak and as a farmer I will argue. I want to win with gratitude and lose with dignity, putting my foremost trust into the hands of a judge burdened with the task to find justice.
I have carefully discussed this decision many times with friends and have been considering as many aspects as possible and also its consequences for everybody involved. There are no hard feelings between the lawyers and us. There is certainly a lot of confusion now on the other side about how to proceed. The so called other side as far as I know have 5 lawyers working on the case, it will be good to walk in and face them with a difference. Am I worried ? No .
I feel relieved, optimistic and full of purpose again.
I always like to face my challenges as direct as possible.

Approximately how much money did this ordeal cost you and your family so far? I've read in an online article about your case that at one point you had to sell off most of your cows and farm, so I assume it must have been around $1 million already. Do you know how much money the government has spent to this day in order to persecute and prosecute you? You can file an official request to the government under the access to information act to find out.
