Message from Michael (May 31., 2007)
My Dear Friends

Finally, our windmill is turning. We are harvesting wind for the sake of the environment. We are now producing our own power.

The last week has been filled with lots of changes that needed to be addressed and dealt with. After six wonderful months of Blue Bus escorts  and renewed community building, we have been asked to leave. What choice did we have than to respect the wishes of the Toronto Waldorf School. Over  ten years this was our place to meet, to talk and to build a very strong community in partnership with Glencolton Farms. A community of sharing and caring.

We are in times of change.

Two evenings ago, we received a court order to stop our milk exchange in York region. This means, if we continue, I might be subject to charges of being in contempt of court.  This could very well mean jail time.

I would like to clarify my position regarding respecting the court of law.

I fully support and respect our legal system, providing the law is within our Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedom. If, however, it is based on special interest groups with monetary powers, disrespecting the common citizen, I feel a clear obligation, as a Canadian citizen, to object and disobey. This is not only about milk. This is a fundamental principle that gives me no other choice but to continue to serve the cow share owners. There is no turning back.

I urge everyone to be alert, not to fall into the trap of angry confrontation. Taking a stand is enough, and very powerful. We are always open for communication and constructive dialogue.

May I wish all of us strength . . .

Regards, Michael
