Message From Michael - May 23., 2007
Dear Friends:

What If . . .  ?

This is a question I am pondering lately in the face of  many reports linking our present attitude of entitlement to the disastrous consequences for the rest of the world, be it the environment or the physical and mental health of society.

We are entitled to own or engage in activities that destroy our environment or mental health but carry no penalty or legal threat.  We are entitled to knowingly and willingly pollute and destroy, for the sake of the “economic growth” of a few in today’s society. We are at a very critical and powerful turning point in history. We are still able to bring about change before it is too late. The tipping point in Earth’s evolution is sooo close that we are near  the moment of losing our freedom to make decisions based on inner morals and spiritual consciousness.

What if  we rose and demanded the banning of all recreational vehicles?

What if  we rose and demanded that corporate lobbying of politicians be outlawed?

What if  we rose and ended corporate interest in University funding?

What if  we ended the fast food culture?

What if  we replaced our virtual TV and movie culture with reality?

What if  we rose and demanded an end of all pesticides, herbicides and fungicides?

What if  we replaced our self centred interests with true concerns for the future of Society and Earth?

What if  we regained our freedom to be responsible for ourselves?

What are we gaining by waiting for others to take the lead. We can implement change day by day . Nothing will justify, in the future, our inactions of today.

Bravo to all of those who support  the return of real food from real farmers to real people.

Six months of defiance, six months of resisting, six months of courage. We are strong. Thank you so much.

My best regards to all of you . . .

Farmer Schmidt

I am part of a cow share group that is just starting up in Renfrew county through a food co-op committed to eating food grown within 100 miles. I decided to write about the benefits of raw milk in a monthly column for a Toronto health mag and submitted it last night. This morning I discovered that the Dairy Bureau of Canada has already tried to sue the pants off the magazine and the owner managed to keep the business on the condition she not bad mouth milk.... so I was fuming a bit this morning thinking about 'restrictions' (saturn) of governing bodies when the local farmer who has the Jersey cows called, and said, who needs to get caught up in the negative... just focus on the positive benefits of raw milk. It's true. We are very powerful - we create the world with our intentions and visualizations, so I am disempowering the grumpies of the Dairy Bureau by not giving them any air play, and instead enticing folks to support local farmers (whiile we still have local farmers!) and delight in raw milk everything. Thanks for being strong. Happy spring hugs from Renfrew county!
