Open House at Glencolton Farms

Saturday June 16, 2007: 11 a.m. until 11 p.m.

Everyone interested in seeing with their own eyes the Farm that’s in the centre of the Raw Milk battle is welcome to attend.

  • See the cows.
  • See the milking facility.
    See the state of the art processing facility.
    See how a diversified farm functions.

  • ŸTalk to Michael Schmidt who is charged under the Milk and Health Protection Act for providing Real Milk to his Cow share owners.
  • Talk to cow share owners from all over Ontario.
  • Talk to Government Officials who might show up.
  • Take tours of the farm
  • Watch the working windmill (it will begin operation June 15., 2007)

Listen to four 30 minute presentations:

  • 12:00pm:  The History of this Battle to Legalize Raw Milk
  •   1:00pm:  The Real Danger of Today’s Food
      2:00pm:  Factory Farming and Food Safety
      3:00pm:  Solutions and Alternatives for Educated Consumers

  • Coffee and snacks available throughout the day.
  • Potluck dinner at 6 p.m.
  • A Country Barn Dance at 8 p.m.

 Everyone is welcome who wants to understand the real facts behind this Battle.

Directions to farm:

From Highway 400 and Highway 401

Go north on Highway 400
Exit at Highway 9 and go west (about 24kms)
Turn north (right) onto Highway 10 after Mono Mills, at the outskirts of Orangeville
Highway 10 merges with Highway 89 near Shelburne. Turn west (left) onto Highway 89/10 where you see Pete's Donuts on your right
Follow Highway 10 and turn north (right) at the lights towards Dundalk as soon as you hit the main shops in Shelburne
Continue to Flesherton then turn west (left) onto Highway 4
Continue for about 22kms to Concession 2 (it will come shortly after a left bend in the road) and turn north (right)
Continue for about 3kms
You'll see the windmill on your right, pass it and the next driveway will be Glencolton Farms (#393889)
