Message From Michael - April 18 2007 |
Dear Friends
All those who are concerned about our future, our children's future and our planet's future need to understand that the time to act is now. We are running out of time in respect to preserving what we still have.
June Callwood who just died in Toronto on April 14. once said:
"If any of you happens to see an injustice, you are no longer a spectator, you are a participant. And you have an obligation to do something."
We need to understand that our responsibility is not only our little private lives. Our responsibility goes so much further . The more we have committed ourselves to understand and to know, the more we will have sleepless nights trying to find ways to preserve, sustain and transform our surroundings. Never ever can we find rest again if we understand how far we have removed ourselves from the moral responsibility for society and earth unless we begin to change ourselves.
99% of the bee population has died in the Niagara region. All over North America the same phenomena. If the bees are gone, our lives will be at stake. The bees are responsible for the pollination of most of the fruits.
If we sit back and allow the ongoing destruction of our enviroment and society, we are guilty.
If we allow exploitation of our planet in the name of greed and do nothing, we are guilty.
If we let things happen and resign ourselves, we are guilty.
If we are not willing to sacrifice our own comfort of living in order to give our planet a chance to survive, we are guilty. Please understand the urgency: our culture of apathy and complacency is a fatal mix for our future.
We need to rise, we need to take on fearlessly what lies ahead of us. Courage will grow once you start on the path of seeking the will to change.
Oh, yes, raw milk is our issue . . . I almost forgot. This raw milk controversy opened my eyes to how many people are ready to take a stand. I did not know. Thousands of people are beginning to understand that the thirst and greed for money and power can only be stopped and transformed through the will of selfless determination. Is there any reason to wait until it is too late?
It seems so appropriate that Milk, the MILK OF HUMAN KINDNESS, is at the centre of a battle with huge implications for the future.
More and more, I gain the confidence that we will initiate changes, huge changes, one step at a time.
My thanks to all those who discover their courage little by little. In confidence Michael
