A Message From Sally Fallon

ON THE OCCASION OF THE

BIG BIG BENEFIT CONCERT,

FEBRUARY 24, 2007 IN WOODBRIDGE ONTARIO

Dear Friends of Raw Milk in Canada:

It may seem strange to those in industry and government that citizens are making so much fuss over one particular food--raw milk.  They do not realize how much hinges on this single issue:

    * Access to a food that for many people has been truly life-saving, particularly for    children suffering from asthma, learning and behavior problems and failure to thrive;
    * The financial health of our small farms and rural communities, whose decline during the last several decades can be attributed principally to mandatory pasteurization laws;
    * A recognition of pasture-based farming as the basis for good health, generation after generation;
    * Our basic rights as citizens to health, to freedom of conscience, and to freedom to enter into contractual agreements;
    * And, the replacement of the outmoded and unscientific germ paradigm that shapes our public health policies and the current practice of medicine.

Today we salute Michael Schmidt of Glencolton Farms and the struggle for raw milk in Canada.  Thank you profoundly to all those who have come forward to support his brave actions and defend the right of Canadians to obtain healthy raw milk.

In the not-too-distant future, we will look back upon the victory of this movement as something as obvious as the right to vote and the right to freedom of religion--something so obvious and basic that we will have a hard time imagining how it could be denied.

As you work in your various ways towards victory, please do this:  Every morning and every evening, spend one minute visualizing the beautiful nation of Canada dotted with prosperous small dairy farms supplying raw milk to every growing child and every adult in Canada, your nation's health problems largely solved and your rural towns basking in a renaissance of prosperity and culture.

Sincerely,

Sally Fallon, Founder
