Message From Michael - January 26., 2007.
Dear Friends

A very BIG thank you to all those who came together last Tuesday. First of all, we had 5 cars and the BLUE BUS going down in the morning. Then, in the evening, the Blue Bus was accompanied by seven escorts on our way back.  It is very encouraging to see the growing determination of cow share members and supporters. I really hope that we are under good surveillance by the Ministry of Natural Resources and the Health Units across Ontario so that they can get an idea how people are rejecting these unreasonable actions, all in the name of food safety.  There is hypocrisy in respect to what we are forced to accept as safe food and the growing control of our individual well-informed decisions in respect to food supply.

Our agricultural identity is being destroyed by greed and control.

Our health is being compromised by Government-sanctioned policies that support the industrialisation and dehumanisation of farming.

Our stable rural infrastructure and community have nearly collapsed as a result of this.

There can be no question about standing up and revealing where we are coming from.

I am so thankful for every single person taking a stand, showing interest and supporting this battle, a battle that can only be won through people power. The Blue Bus will continue to serve all of you who need healthy food.

Also a BIG THANK YOU to Mr. Brett Campbell (chief investigator, MNR) for having left us alone last Tuesday.   I can always be reached to help you understand better why we are not conforming to a law that does not respect us farmers and consumers, a law that protects interests and control only. I will be speaking on Sunday morning at the Guelph organic conference at 9.30 a.m. Please send some of your investigative staff to listen and to speak to the people; it will help you look beyond the issue of protecting an unjust law.

Cheers

Michael Schmidt
