Dear Friends
First, I want to thank you all for keeping the issue moving. It has
become so clear that the milk is such a small issue in the context of
the whole food politics.
As we are working towards dialogue, the communication gets harder and harder. I am appalled at how the DFO keeps hammering away at how bad the milk is when it comes from the farm. Fortunately, it is not me painting this grim picture of Farm Fresh Milk. If what they are saying is true, then we need to be even more active to explain the relationship between industrial farming and the quality of food.
I support the DFO about all their milk needing to be pasteurized if they are supporting production methods that make the milk as dangerous as is being quoted by the chairman.
This has been my position for the last 13 years, that only quality milk produced by devoted farmers who understand the link between food safety and mass production should be certified in the Farm Fresh Milk programme.
There is much more to it. If there is no difference between pasteurized and unpasteurized milk, how come so many people ask for the unpasteurized milk. They come because of their health.
Keep working at educating people . . . . many are beginning to wake up.
Cheers
Michael Schmidt
